The mission of Jesuit Prison Ministries, Inc

is to recruit, train and support a new generation

of Jesuit-trained Jail and Prison chaplains

for Catholic pastoral ministry to the incarcerated.

Our Vision of Prison Ministry:

God’s mercy transcends our human judgment and understanding.

Every human being is created in the image of God and each is endowed

with unique personal value and human dignity.

The call of service to those imprisoned does not exclude anyone through this ministry:

the prisoner, the persons victimized by crime,

or the officers and staff of the prison system.

All are to be served with the same love and mercy,

forgiveness, value and dignity

that we have experienced in Jesus Christ.

    Corrections Officers
Most of the C.O.'s I have worked with over the years I have liked as persons.  Being a prison guard is probably in the top 5 least glamorous occupations.  They work in dangerous environments around hostile people  and receive little social recognition for their efforts.  It is the ultimate "thankless ...
